Abstract

This study explores the role of the Quranic and Prophetic methodology in quality management and qualitative improvement, evaluating its contribution to enhancing institutional performance and service quality in healthcare organizations. By highlighting foundational Quranic and Prophetic principles—such as proficiency (Itqān), self-accountability, equity, and continuous improvement—it compares these religious values with the core tenets of Total Quality Management (TQM) in modern administrative thought. The significance of this research lies in proposing an integrative framework that harmonizes religious benchmarks with contemporary management standards. This framework aids in developing effective strategies for achieving sustainable quality and elevating healthcare delivery, particularly within distinct cultural and religious settings such as Islamic societies, with a specific focus on Yemen.

Utilizing a descriptive-analytical framework alongside an inductive methodology to analyze Quranic texts and Prophetic traditions (Hadith), the study reveals that operationalizing a quality framework grounded in Islamic values substantially strengthens organizational efficacy, embeds a culture of continuous improvement, and enhances patient safety and satisfaction. Furthermore, this approach aligns internal self-regulation (professional conscience) with administrative oversight while reinforcing professional commitment and equitable service delivery. The findings conclude that embedding the Quranic and Prophetic approach into institutional quality policies serves as a robust catalyst for comprehensive, sustained qualitative improvement.

Ultimately, this paradigm provides an integrated moral and humanistic matrix that governs individual conduct and cements the ethics of professional practice. Within the healthcare domain—where human lives, suffering, and expectations intersect—ethical and spiritual commitment becomes imperative for ensuring high-quality care and patient safety. The Holy Quran and Sunnah establish clear precepts demanding sincerity, compassion, dedication, and integrity—core values essential to medical practice. Moreover, this approach links psychological tranquility and reliance on God (Tawakkul) to improved clinical outcomes, underscoring the vital integration of medical care with psychological and spiritual patient support.
